Description
HOUSE PUENTE YAYABO is located in the historic center of the city of Sancti Spíritus. Thanks to its geophysical situation, the city is a delightful holiday destination, although still waiting to be discovered as a tourist getaway.Accommodation
Casa Puente Yayabo offers one room for rent. It’s air-conditioned, poses a double bed and two bedside tables, a closet for your luggage, a chest of drawers and a dresser with its mirror. There’s also a luxurious bathroom and a shower with hot and cold water as well as a fridge and a mini-bar. Casa Puente Yayabo offers a breakfast service served on a terrace with gorgeous panoramic views over the emblematic Yayabo River and Quinta de Santa Elena, which shouldn´t be left unsaid. In addition, our guests have at their disposal a garage, which can be accessed directly from the interiors of the residence.
The residence maintains its neo-colonial façade. Its architecture blends together with historical buildings which surrounds it, that once distinguished the old village of Holy Spirit (now Sancti Spíritus), which by the way is now celebrating 500nd anniversary of its foundation. In between its passages and interior walls, still there persists mystical traditions and customs of past generations that once inhabited or frequented the city. Fascinating brick walls already affected by the course of time, heavy chains supported with cloves and pieces of wood still embedded in any place. Although it was designed by important contemporary artists of the village, there’s a "gentle breeze" that persists in its appearance that transfer visitors to the times of colonization and slavery in Cuba; projecting a picture of the very identity of our island’s roots.

Among the main attraction of the city that surround the residence, along with its cobbled streets, are la Iglesia Parroquial Mayor (Mayor Parish Church), which once was one of the most impressive churches on the island, the Museum of Colonial Art (also called The Museum of 100 Doors ), el Teatro Principal (The Main Theater), which is the only one we have in the city and it was built in 1839, la Quinta de Santa Elena (now la Casa de la Guayabera, which means the House of Guayabera), the legendary Puente Yayabo (Yayabo Bridge), which was built out of goat's milk and La Taberna , among other places of touristic interest.
